Mule deer seem to migrate to different parts of the mountain this time of the year, whereas white-tailed deer, which I normally photograph in town, also seem less visible. I suspect this is linked to the fact that they're having babies (those would also be nice to catch—with my camera, that is).

And so, a familiar sight like this is less common and more welcome, particularly because these animals' fur looks more bright against the colors of summer.
