Red car, red sign, blue sky, and a daytime Moon. What could be better in early spring?
Spring and the City
An exceedingly brief, one-day stop in Washington, DC still left me some free time to not only visit the Smithsonian's Natural History museum, but also stroll through some of the most obvious monuments. Despite the surprising Chicago-style winds, I still managed to snap some mobile shots of the springtime surroundings, while trying not to be blown away!
Lonely Night, Lonely Light
A Bit of a Detour
A one-day detour into Washington, DC typically leads nerds like me to predictably nerdy places like this:
Reflections at Dusk
I don't normally end up in this place at this hour, but I'm glad I did, since I was able to witness this subtly lovely and calming scene.
After the Rain
Into the Setting Sun
Swirling Shadows
Between Winter and Spring
It's that time of the year when the world (that is, one's immediate surroundings in the Rocky Mountains) exists between winter and spring. The town melts and freezes as sunsets leave traces of yellow in the puddles beneath one's feet. The winding path ahead glistens with slush creating fairytale-like patterns, as it disappears into the reflections of the trees and clouds alike. Neighborhood deer march in droves to munch on last year's plant life suddenly revealed by warmer temperatures. The mountains, on the other hand, are still occupied by Old Man Winter, who keeps threatening to descend onto the town and paint everything white all over again.
