The Beauty of Nature's Asymmetry
This leaf's slight asymmetry—revealed in macro—reminded me of the fact that even the most aesthetically pleasing human faces are also not perfectly symmetrical.
The Visitor
Happy accidents like this are one of the best aspects of nature photography. I was merely trying to capture a few images of plants in bloom when this little pollen-covered visitor crawled into my shot.
Feels like the Trees
Leaves of Gold
Young leaves reach toward the sky to catch the last sun rays of a dying day. 🌿🌞
Full Moon in Scorpio
I captured tonight’s mysterious near-full Moon in Scorpio rising above the horizon.
These images were shot using the same bulb exposure (in most cases). I suspect the colors are created by particles, atmospheric effects, and the Moon's path through the sky.
(My optics are rusty, and it's late. This is my excuse, and I'm sticking to it!)
Roses Unseen
Spring in the Mountains
There is something peaceful about observing a spring storm roll over the Rocky Mountains, as a few remaining wispy clouds from a dissipating inversion are swirling over the tree tops below. Incoming rain is about to make the not-yet-verdant green just a bit brighter, and last autumn's earth tones suddenly shed their monochrome dustiness and gain impressionistic detail—until things dry again.
