One of the best things about shooting the Moon this time of the year is that, yes, it stays light so late. And it is particularly special when the full Moon falls on the Solstice for the first time in more than fifty years!
Ways of the Mountain
Cool and winding mountain pathways with candle-like bear glass in bloom lighting the way. πΏπ
Inner Peace
Hiking to find your inner peace. ππ½ I'm no fan of keyword-generated motivational quotations, but this kind of hypnotic, relaxing--grounding--effect that surprising mountain streams (evidently, their power is explained by the remaining melting snow) have on a stressed-out human like me (and, quite possibly, you!) is undeniable! π¦
Worlds within Worlds
Everyday in Yellow
Sacred Birch
I don't know if this birch is actually sacred, but the lighting just screams, "Come into the light, my child!" π
A Visitor in Orange
A visitor distracting me from my work day (not that I wouldn't use any excuse to photograph! π)
Unexpected Symmetry
I don't get to photograph as often as I'd like nowadays, so a simple trip to the nearby river to do so was a welcome change. Apart from shooting even more macro imagesβI realize my blog feed is littered with themβI came across a slew of mallards.
Whereas the males' striking color is always gorgeous, these birds are common enough for us to if not ignore them, then take them for granted. But I'm so glad I captured a few images of their seamless gliding across the murky water, albeit with striking sun reflections matching the mallards' emerald heads, since they reveal unexpected symmetry.
Sunshine and the Rain
Simultaneous sunshine, rain, and shadows not only make for a nice macro image, but also are a pretty good illustration of my life!
Purple and Green
Late-spring and early summer bring with them a welcome explosion of color unseen for months by those of us living in the North and starved of vitamin D.
