The Visitor
Happy accidents like this are one of the best aspects of nature photography. I was merely trying to capture a few images of plants in bloom when this little pollen-covered visitor crawled into my shot.

Walking into a Spring Storm
When you live in the mountains, you learn to estimate the proximity of an incoming storm fairly closely.
How?
Easily: look for grey streaks in the clouds moving in your direction, and approximate how fast those clouds are moving.
And then?
And then: RUN FOR COVER!
Leaves of Gold
Young leaves reach toward the sky to catch the last sun rays of a dying day. 🌿🌞
New Book Cover
I haven't updated my graphic-design portfolio in a long time. Naturally, there is a lot of newer work to share.
One of my recent covers is this one. It is an illustration to a mystery-and-crime novel written by a well-known lawyer and a television personality in Russia. This is my second book cover for this client.
The first one—and interior illustrations—are here.
Full Moon in Scorpio
I captured tonight’s mysterious near-full Moon in Scorpio rising above the horizon.
These images were shot using the same bulb exposure (in most cases). I suspect the colors are created by particles, atmospheric effects, and the Moon's path through the sky.
(My optics are rusty, and it's late. This is my excuse, and I'm sticking to it!)
